The OPRA SPEAR is a prestigious award presented to exemplary individuals in operative roles and volunteer rescue services. This symbol of recognition represents those who courageously assume high risks to aid and safeguard their fellow citizens, embodying the forefront of societal protection.
Nominees are put forward by their peers in acknowledgment of their selflessness and exceptional dedication in service, whether displayed in a single remarkable instance or consistently over time.
Recipients of the honor award receive the OPRA spear statue, a testimonium, and a monetary award. Funding for the honor award is sourced from OPRA profits through the OPRA foundation organization number 931 360 256.
The OPRA spear is constructed from 15 mm steel, with the finishing touches including glass blowing and a clear coat, generously sponsored by Lakkereren AS. The wooden base is handcrafted by Mathias Hagen, who serves as both a firefighter and a volunteer Search and Rescue member.
